Meet the team
Julian McSweeney is an artist/curator, co-founder and director of ArtSalon+. Having a background in advertising, commercial film production and photography, Julian gained his Master’s Degree in Fine Art from UAL/Chelsea College of Arts in 2015, earning a reputation as a thoughtfully creative and dynamic curator with a particular interest in promoting cultural exchanges between emerging artists from the post-graduate arts alumni. In the last two years, he has curated the work of over 90 international alumni in art shows in London and China, including ‘Paper Tiger, Wooden Horse’, an international group exhibition of work by artists from the UK, China, and Hong Kong, which was held in Shenzhen in December 2016. He is also a co-curator of China Design Week 2017.
Huanglu Shi (Darlene) is an artist-curator and graduate of the MA Fine Art course at Chelsea College of Arts (2015) and the MA Culture, Criticism, and Curation course at Central Saint Martin’s (2017). Aside from curation, Huanglu’s diverse art practice includes performance, painting, and installation. Huanglu is based in both London and China.
